Japanese blue and white bowl
This striking blue and white Japanese bowl has been lovingly restored using the ancient art of Kintsugi. It's a technique that embraces imperfection by repairing cracks with lacquer mixed with powdered metal, in this case, creating a shimmering finish that highlights rather than hides its history.
At 28cm wide and 12cm high, it is a substantial piece, ideal as a decorative centrepiece or for display on a shelf or sideboard.
The flowing blue pattern contrasts beautifully with the golden repair lines, making this bowl not only a functional object but a symbol of renewal and beauty through imperfection.
This marks the beginning of a new chapter in our restoration work, where broken pieces are not discarded, but elevated and made more beautiful because of their story.
