Bitossi Rimini blue lamp from 1960s
This month we're thrilled to showcase these stunning 1960s Italian Bitossi "Rimini Blu" collection.
These table lamps designed by Aldo Londi are absolute gems of Mid-century design, renowned for their striking colour and meticulous craftsmanship.
Handcrafted by the famed Italian pottery house Bitossi, these lamps radiate with an intense, mesmerising blue—a vivid shade that evokes the spirit of Mediterranean sea. Each lamp’s richly textured surface highlights Londi’s signature technique, where depth and detail blend seamlessly to create a truly captivating effect.
Our restoration has been a careful labour of love. Each lamp was thoughtfully rewired using premium blue cloth cable, harmonising elegantly with the pottery's distinctive glaze. A polished brass lamp holder has been fitted to enhance its refined vintage charm.
The lamps are crowned by custom-made, locally handcrafted shades in a specially chosen designer fabric. The fabric’s subtle yet intricate pattern perfectly mirrors the detailed motifs found on the pottery itself. We've selected a transparent lining to showcase the exquisite stitching detail, allowing the craftsmanship behind these handmade shades to be fully appreciated.
These table lamps aren’t just lighting—they are pieces of art, imbued with history, passion, and meticulous attention to detail. With only two available, each lamp offers a rare chance to own a standout piece of Mid-century Italian design heritage.
