Antique carved wooden decorative lamp

A striking 19th century antique wooden decorative lamp with a sculptural presence more often associated with plaster work of the period. Its finely carved form carries a graceful classical influence, making it an unusual and beautiful example in wood.
 
Now thoughtfully updated, it has been rewired with Italian chocolate brown cable and a floor switch, finished with a black MK plug for modern practicality. A British made brass E27 bulb holder sits on a brass extension rod, allowing the original carved top detail to remain visible and appreciated.
 
The shade has been handmade locally in a subtle period paisley fabric, measuring 60cm wide, perfectly complementing the scale and character of the piece.
 
Standing 192cm high, it is an elegant and commanding feature light with both heritage and presence.
