Antique French cast iron bench

This beautifully rebuilt French faux bois-style bench is a celebration of durability and style. The sculptural ends, originally cast to mimic natural tree branches, have been carefully sandblasted and powder coated in a soft olive green, a distinctive touch that brings a fresh character to this classic design.
 
The seating and backrest have been reconstructed in hardwood Iroko, a timber renowned for its strength, longevity, and warm tone. As a finishing touch, the wood has been treated with pure tung oil, derived from the seeds of the tung tree, offering a natural, water-resistant seal that enhances its grain and tone.
 
The bench is assembled using stainless steel bolts and locknuts for stability and weather resistance, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor settings. At 185cm in length, it’s ideal for a garden, conservatory, or even a hall with a view.
