Vintage Floor Lamp by Svend Aage Holm Sørensen
Designed by the master lighting designer Svend Aage Holm Sørensen during the 1950s, this low-height Danish floor lamp is a fantastic architectural piece of mid-century Scandinavian design.
Standing at a compact 1.2 meters high (120cm), its lower stance was deliberately engineered to deliver warm, indirect light directly alongside lounge seating, armchairs, or low-slung Mid-century credenzas without overpowering the room.
The lamp exhibits Holm Sørensen's signature ability to balance sculptural metalwork with organic proportions.
The base has been carefully restored and re-staved in our workshop, stabilizing the structure and restoring the integrity of its materials so it is fully prepared for the next phase of its journey. Its rare height and celebrated Danish lineage make it an exceptional statement piece for collectors of authentic 1950s Nordic lighting.
>>> About the designer: Svend Aage Holm Sørensen was renowned for combining experimental forms with practical lighting solutions. His low-profile floor lamps from the 1950s are particularly sought after today, as their scale fits seamlessly next to low mid-century seating profiles like Hans Wegner or Finn Juhl lounges.
