We have been busy this week doing customer repairs which include this barometer which is sadly in need of a face lift. The broken bevelled glass has been sent to one of the few companies left that can press the glass into its housing. We also have started work on this 16 bulb chandelier and made some wiring alterations to get 13 lights working. The next stage is to replace 12 bulb holders with shorter brass fittings without the fake candle holders. Also rewired a few lights for customers and re glued a few chairs, but no broken chair legs to repair this week.
The Kilta Armchair has been stripped back to allow a pattern to be made and to replace the perished padding. This Lucas inspection lamp has been polished and rewired in brown cloth cable with an inline switch so it can be hung anywhere. Bought this lovely vintage grey pottery lamp ready to be rewired and be fitted with an antique brass bulb holder. Also ordered a clock motor for this antique long clock face so it can be both practical while aesthetically pleasing on a wall or shelf. Cleaned and restored the leather on this trunk with B.L.D's initials on it so it can be used as a coffee table , it can be seen within the shop with whisky glasses on it. As always there are other items in progress or awaiting parts or time , so keep an eye on the Workshop page on the website or even better visit the shop/workshop to see what's going on.
