Restoration Update

Updated: May 9, 2023

This week I have a number of items in the workshop that all need some attention , firstly the 1960s Kilta Armchair which needs recovered and I have ordered two fabrics to choose from , one is cobalt blue mesh wool which was end of line priced and the other was a linen look polyester lemon fabric, can't wait to see which works best. The hall hook stand needs a additional hook and one straightened but it may be hard to bend without snapping , I have sanded it down and added a hardwood block to the bottom of one leg that was damaged and will fill around with two pack wood filler then undercoat it before I add the lovely Lamp Room Gray I bought from Farrow & Ball yesterday when in west end of Glasgow to visit a clock maker to discuss a customer's barometer face that needed replaced - stopped for an amazing coffee at Perch & Rest which didn't disappoint but cost £3.50 ! Back in workshop stripped back the hall mirror stand and ordered some Victorian tiles for the two missing circular holes on the base, enjoyed giving it a clear wax which smells lovely.
